Laura Ghio graduated in Business Economics at the University of Genoa, where she subsequently held an academic post at the Faculty of Economics until 1999 and, in addition, conducted courses in business management, logistics and maritime and land transport management on behalf of major public and private companies.
In June 1999 she commenced her professional career at the Port Authority of Genoa where she carried out multidisciplinary activities ranging from market research studies, port planning and development, infrastructure investment programmes, business plans and common user service tenders and port concessions.
Between 2006 and 2013 she held a course of lectures at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Genoa in Port Maritime Logistic Management. Laura Ghio is the author of numerous academic articles in port-maritime industry books and journals, and has been an active member of EU working groups as the Port Authority of Genoa delegate.
