Genoa, Pra’, Savona and Vado rank as Italy’s pre-eminent port range in terms of total throughput, commodity diversity and economic output.

The Western Ligurian Sea Port Authority’s priority is to ensure the port’s ongoing leadership across the Italian and European shipping and logistics industry by enhancing competitiveness and service quality.

To achieve this objective, the Port Authority has embarked upon the implementation of a sizable major tangible infrastructure investment programme across the ports, with a strong focus also on innovation technology, and with the prime objective of upgrading maritime, road and rail links with the North Sea-Alpine-Mediterranean Corridor - part of the EU’s trans-European transport network policy (TEN-T), a key instrument in the development of an efficient and sustainable multimodal transport infrastructure network across the European Union.
