Li Fengli inspected the Vado Ligure container terminal site, on schedule to open by the end of year, and the Port of Genoa facilities.

On his first visit to Liguria, Li Fengli, Chairman of the Qingdao Port Group, inspected  both the Vado Ligure and the Genoa port facilities, flanked by his staff Edward Gor-Jong, Li Jingkui, Sun Jin and Huang Weihua. The high-level delegation, accompanied by the Managing Director of APM Terminals Italy, Paolo Cornetto, was received by the President of the Western Ligurian Sea Port Authority, Paolo Emilio Signorini, and by the Secretary-General, Marco Sanguineri.

First stop of Chairman Li Fengli at the Reefer Terminal, where he visited the warehouses and docks, followed by an inspection of the the Vado Ligure container terminal, on schedule to commence operations by the end of 2019; to date fourteen new ARMG cranes and one Ship-to-Shore  crane, supplied by the Shanghai-based ZPMC, have been installed.  In the afternoon, the delegation visited by boat the Port of Genoa facilities, including Voltri Terminal Europa.

The Port of Qingdao is responsible for the construction and future management of Vado Ligure container terminal in partnership with APM Maersk and Cosco, and holds a 9.9% stake in the terminal operating company APM Terminals Vado Ligure. The new terminal will be equipped to accommodate the latest generation of ultra-large container ships and is set to become the new maritime Gateway to the major Northern Italian and Central European industrial and consumer centres.
