27 September 2022 - Genoa was selected as the destination for a full two-day study tour programme on the part of the CEA, the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission, one of Europe’s leading players in technological research in low carbon energies.
The Ideas Laboratory of the Innovation Department of the Grenoble-based Commission invited their R&D partners to take part in a visit to the Ligurian capital: a case study to examine the roadmap undertaken by Genoa to overcome the urban vulnerabilities of today’s global cities and, specifically, of the major city-ports.
The fact-finding mission, on the part of a group of innovation managers from a broad range of French companies, included a seminar organised at Palazzo San Giorgio, headquarters of the Western Ligurian Sea Port Authority, presented by the Port President Paolo Emilio Signorini and Augusto Cosulich, Managing Director of Fratelli Cosulich, dedicated to the public/private investments and projects underway in the Port of Genoa, with an added focus on the clean energy transition, innovation and improved integration between port and city.
