The biennial report for 2019 is out. In 2017 only 30 cities had been assessed, with a final Top 15 ranking of leading maritime capitals; whilst this year all the world’s maritime cities have been analysed, with the publication of a Top 50 classification benchmarked on an objective indicators scale and a Top 15 ranking based upon both objective indicators and 200 industry expert assessments.

Genoa (the port, including a radius of 200 km, thereby grouping together all the ports along the Savona-Livorno coastline) is ranked in the 34th position, the only Italian city to be nominated, directly behind Glasgow and Qingdao, but ahead of Bejing (first ranking for shipping banks portfolio), Kobe and Marseilles.
