Genoa road traffic update: Heavy goods vehicles over 7.5 t. can access Lungomare Canepa

The temporary traffic regulation order which had been introduced in the aftermath of the collapsed Morandi Bridge, restricting access of heavy goods vehicles over 7.5 tonnes in Lungomare Canepa in Sampierdarena, has been cancelled.

Whilst the temporary traffic regulation order restricting access of heavy goods vehicles, travelling southbound towards Livorno and Florence, into Genoa remains in force; these vehicles must use the A26 and A7 motorway routes and bypass Genoa. Plans are afoot to identify future service areas for heavy goods vehicles close to the port to reduce repercussions in the event of traffic congestion along the A26 and A7 motorways.
