Genoa road traffic update: how to reach Pra’-Voltri and Genoa Sampierdarena port basin

In the aftermath of the collapsed Morandi Bridge along the eastbound section of the A10 motorway Genova-Aeroporto and Genova-Ovest exits, a section of the motorway has been closed between the A10 (towards France) and A7/A12 motorway junction.

Nevertheless, all the other motorway connections to Genoa, the A26, and other Genoa motorway exits (Genova-Nervi, Genova-Est, Genova-Bolzaneto, Genova-Pegli and Genova-Prà) are open in both directions and fully operational, consequently, alternative routes to Genoa are available from all parts of the country.

It is important to note that the northbound and southbound motorway connections to/from the Port of Genoa towards the port’s major catchment area, namely the leading industrial and consumer centres in Northern Italy, are fully operational.

Therefore, the port basins of Prà-Voltri and Genoa-Sampierdarena are fully accessible by motorway and both quay and landside port operations have resumed, although congested roadways may be expected during peak hours in the Genoa-Sampierdarena area.

However, the Port Authority of the Western Ligurian Sea and the City of Genoa have joined forces to improve mobility and access to the Genoa-Sampierdarena port basin.
