Hapag Lloyd will consolidate new regional headquarters for Southern Europe in Genoa

The decision was taken last week in Hapag Lloyd's Hamburg headquarters to divide the Regional European Office into North and South, and to nominate Genoa as Regional Head Office for Southern Europe, responsible for Italy, Spain, Turkey, Egypt and Med Agents.

In a statement released by Assagenti, the Genoa Association of Ship Agents declares: "The reorganisation of the German company is set to expand the range of services offered by Hapag Lloyds' top Mediterranean branch office in terms of volumes handled, and consequently to boost employment further and consolidate the role of Genoa's shipping and logistics industry as the major economic driving force of the city".
