New Akkon Lines service from Genoa

The Turkish shipping line Akkon Lines has nominated Genoa hub port for its new West Med service dedicated to the intra-Mediterranean box trade.

Direct sailings are offered from the Port of Genoa's IMT-Intermodal Marine Terminal, part of the Ignazio Messina & C. Group. The "Max" containership celebrated its maiden voyage from Genoa's IMT facility on 3 August.
The regular weekly liner service is scheduled to call at a selection of ports in Spain, Algiers, Tunisia, Libya and Turkey, and is set to handle approximately 10,000 TEUs per year at the Genoese port terminal.
