Costa Cruises has opened up Terminal 2 of Palacrociere, in response to the nationwide Italian Silver Vaccination Day campaign, following an agreement undersigned by the local public health authority, ASL 2 Savona, and the cruise terminal operator Costa Crociere. The agreement was forged by the Liguria Region, with the support of the Western Ligurian Sea Port Authority, City of Savona, Harbour Master, Customs Authority, Border Police Control and U.M.A.A.F.
Savona, 13 February - The terminal will be equipped to vaccinate approximately 600 senior citizens per day, and is set to contribute to expediting the distribution of the vaccine across the Savona area in full safety.
“The genuine bond between a company and the local social fabric is visible during the good times, when thousands of cruise passengers bring great vibrancy and business opportunities to the city, but also in difficult times, when the terminal operators join forces with the local authorities to accommodate floating-hospital ships and, today, vaccination centres. As always, the sea comes to the forefront as a major natural resource of value in Liguria”, declared the Ports of Genoa President, Paolo Emilio Signorini.
