The Port Authority Management Committee of 18 May passed the motion to appoint Paolo Piacenza Secretary-General of the Western Liguria Sea Port Authority for the next four years.
Currently Chief Director of Port Governance, Business Plans and Subsidiary Companies within the Port Authority, at various stages of his career Piacenza has held key positions as strategic infrastructure and public-private partnership consultant to the Italian Prime Minister's Government Office, as member of the task force at the Ministry of European Policy, with an assignment in concessions and public procurement procedures, and as member of the infrastructure legal team in Lombardy in support of the organisation of the 2015 World Expo hosted in Milan.
A degree in Law and a PhD in Administrative Law, the newly nominated Secretary-General succeeds Marco Sanguineri, who maintains his post as Chief Director of Port Planning and Development.
President Paolo Emilio Signorini renewed his sincere thanks to Marco Sanguineri for the high degree of professionalism and dedication shown in the course of his four-year term of office, marked by unprecedented challenges, from the tragic collapse of the Morandi Bridge to the Covid-19 pandemic, and congratulated Paolo Piacenza on his new appointment.
