The construction of the new 3-lane viaduct, connecting the Genova-Pra’ motorway exit directly to the container terminal facility, has been completed and is set to improve intermodal mobility at the Port of Pra’.

The installation of guardrails, road lighting and acoustic barriers is near completion, in addition to the construction of the entry ramp shoreside, which will be aligned with the entry ramp landside already in place. At this stage, following the conclusion of the inspection and verification phase, the new dedicated viaduct is scheduled to open by the end of the year to provide direct truck access to the container terminal.

The project, which kicked off in May 2021, has been designed to upgrade landside access to the Genoa-Pra’ facility, Italy’s leading container gateway facility, with the construction of the new direct road link to the motorway and the expansion of the on-terminal rail yard.
