San Giorgio del Porto awarded Grimaldi contract for scrubber installation

The “Forza” ferry-cruise ship will be installed with hybrid-ready open-loop scrubbers, and refitted for subsequent modifications for a transition to the closed-loop. The vessel is to remain in the Genoese shipyard for 35 days, and will subsequently be subject to a series of tests. In January 2020, the “Forza” will be followed by its twin ship “Tenacia” which will also be refitted.
The installation of the scrubbers on the two units will employ over 150 workers who will also perform services to upgrade the ships’ engineering plants.
