The new Sky Princess cruise ship calls at the Port of Genoa

The Sky Princess, the first purpose-built MedallionClass ship of Princess Cruises, the international premium cruise line, called at the Stazioni Marittime terminal in Genoa on her inaugural season in the Mediterranean, before her debut in the Caribbean.

Genoa, 12 November 2019 - The 140,000-ton, 330-metre long Sky Princess was built by Fincantieri and can accommodate up to 3,660 guests and 1,346 crew.

Thanks to the invaluable cooperation of Cemar Agency Network, Princess Cruises of Carnival Group becomes the third-ranking cruise liner in the Port of Genoa and in 2021, with the advent of the new flagship Enchantment Princess, is forecast to handle up to 55,000 passengers per year. The US cruise liner’s decision is further confirmation of the Port of Genoa’s leadership in the Mediterranean cruise market.

The new Sky Princess, flanked by another vessel of the Princess fleet, the Pacific, provided the spectacular backdrop to the Crest Ceremony, with the ritual exchange of shields between the Captain of the ship, Heikki Laakkonen, and the local Authorities.
