Two new rail terminal cranes at PSA Pra'

PSA Genova Pra' inaugurated on 30 November two new rail terminal container handling cranes, which offer high precision positioning and reduced energy consumption. The cranes are equipped with user-friendly interface, including remote diagnostics and monitoring, for improved performance and emergency management, thereby increasing safety and efficiency levels.

The deployment of the new cranes for rail operations - together with the on-terminal double rail track link with the RFI-operated Genova Prà Mare rail freight hub and the pioneering direct rail freight service from Genoa to Basle - confirms the strategic role of rail connections in ensuring a seamless integrated and sustainable supply chain. The ceremony was attended by the President of the Liguria Region, Giovanni Toti, the Mayor of Genoa, Marco Bucci, the President of the Genoa Confederation of Italian Industry, Giovanni Mondini and the President of the Western Ligurian Sea Port Authority, Paolo Emilio Signorini.
