Workshop in Genoa dedicated to blockchain, transport and logistics

The 8 October 2018 Genoa hosted a meeting, organised by the Port Authority of the Western Ligurian Sea, on the role of blockchain technology in the transport and logistics industry.

Nadia Hewett, delegate of the World Economic Forum – Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, was invited as keynote speaker, and addressed the issues of blockchain implementation and the many ways in which it can be applied across the supply chain to increase efficiency, transparency and interoperability.
The topic aroused great interest amongst the senior management of Genoa’s shipping industry who attended the workshop. The President of the Port, Paolo Emilio Signorini, and the Mayor of Genoa, Marco Bucci, opened the day’s lively discussion with a welcoming speech to delegates.
