European Easylog Project: workshop in Savona on how to improve freight and passenger mobility, The Chamber of Commerce of Savona hosted a workshop organised by the EasyLog Project, funded by the EU within Axis III of the Italia-Francia Marittimo 2018-2020 (Italy-France Maritime 2018-2020) Interreg Program, with a focus on improving freight and passenger mobility between the member-regional areas of Sardinia, Tuscany, Liguria, PACA (Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur), and Corsica.
11 January 2019 - The project is headed by the Sardinia Region, whilst the Ligurian partners include the Chamber of Commerce of the Ligurian Riviera and CIELI (Centre of Excellence for Integrated Logistics of the University of Genoa). EasyLog concentrates specifically on the ro-ro commodity segment to identify and implement innovative solutions designed to accelerate electronic data exchange between all the major players, both public and private, involved in the transport and supply chain, and consequently to improve efficiency in handling high volumes of traffic between the member-ports.
The workshop focused on the Port of Savona Vado, which in recent years has firmly established its leading role in the Mediterranean in the ro-ro traffic segment, bolstered by the expansion of Savona Terminal Auto (recently acquired by Grimaldi Group), offering daily services to Spain and North Africa and a hub for the import/export of motor vehicles, and by the strong performace of Forship, which operates ro-pax regular services from Vado Ligure to Corsica.
In addition to the aforesaid terminal operators, Reefer Terminal, Compagnia Unica dei Lavoratori Portuali (Port Dockers), Customs Agency, Coast Guards, and the Maritime Border Police of Savona also attended the workshop organized by the Chamber of Commerce of the Ligurian Riviera and coordinated by the Western Ligurian Sea Port Authority and CIELI.Click to listen to the articleEuropean Easylog Project: workshop in Savona on how to improve freight and passenger mobility, The Chamber of Commerce of Savona hosted a workshop organised by the EasyLog Project, funded by the EU within Axis III of the Italia-Francia Marittimo 2018-2020 (Italy-France Maritime 2018-2020) Interreg Program, with a focus on improving freight and passenger mobility between the member-regional areas of Sardinia, Tuscany, Liguria, PACA (Provence-Alpes-Côte dAzur), and Corsica.
