Palazzo San Giorgio, the landmark headquarters of the Port Authority, provided the stunning backdrop to the official visit of the Ambassador of Romania to Italy, in Genoa to celebrate the reopening of the Honorary Consulate of Romania.
12 July 2023 - This morning the President of the Western Ligurian Sea Port Authority, Paolo Emilio Signorini, received in his offices the Ambassador of Romania in Italy, Gabriela Dancau, the Consul General in Turin, Ioana Gheorghias, and the Honorary Consul in Genoa and senior partner of Deloitte, Eugenio Puddu.
During the course of the visit, President Signorini illustrated the strategic role of the Ports of Genoa as a modern logistics platform serving all the major manufacturing companies and industries of Italy, with a focus on the 3-billion euro wide-ranging infrastructure investment plan underway across Genoa, Savona and Vado Ligure to meet the challenges posed by the advent of the trans-oceanic ultra-large container vessels and increases in traffic volumes.
The meeting provided the diplomatic mission with the opportunity to discuss the prospects for future growth in bilateral trade between Italy and Romania, with total trade in 2022 having registered a record level of 20 billion euros.
