New Sailing-Yachting Centre in Genoa's Port,
On 14 December 2023 the Western Ligurian Sea Port Authority awarded a new concession to a group of Genoa-based companies, Genoa Sea Service Srl, Gatti Srl, North Sails Srl and Consorzio Assistenza Nautica of the Port of Genoa. The contract foresees innovative redevelopment in the Ship Repair Area east of the port.
The project, presented by the four long-established shipping companies specialised in the provision of customised solutions in marine supplies and services, dovetails with the extensive and far-reaching redevelopment plan requirements of the Levante Waterfront which calls for the creation of a new vibrant urban space, but which is in part also dedicated to marina and yachting facilities for residents and tourists alike.
The new business venture groups together Genoa Sea Service Srl, Gatti Srl and Consorzio Assistenza Nautica, and, for the first time in the Port of Genoa, the sailing company North Sails Srl, world leader in innovative sails technology. The business plan foresees a review of the layout of the site located alongside the renovated Levante Waterfront and will feature the construction of a new 3000-sqm facility.
The establishment of the Sailing-Yachting Centre is bolstered by a sizable 10-million euro investment plan, with forecasts pointing to an annual turnover exceeding 30 million euros. In terms of employment, the facility is expected to create approximately 60 new jobs and is set to boost further an industrial sector which plays a leading role in both Genoa's local economy and the Italian economy alike.Click to listen to the articleNew Sailing-Yachting Centre in Genoas Port,
