Quality and Environmental Management Systems

The Western Ligurian Sea Port Authority has received and implements UNI EN ISO 14001 environmental management certification and UNI EN ISO 9001 quality management certification in relation to the operations of the entire organisation.

The environmental management accreditation of the former Port Authorities of Genoa and Savona-Vado Ligure have converged in a single ISO 14001 certificate since 2018, set against the elaboration of joint procedures and objectives, whilst simultaneously preserving compliance with the specifications of the two distinct territorial environments. Within this framework, the Port Authority has successfully embarked on a path to guarantee the sustainability of port activities and infrastructure construction works across solutions designed to reconcile the competitiveness of the port with the requirements of local urban redevelopment, economic growth and protection of the environment.

UNI EN ISO 9001 is a globally recognised standard for quality management which promotes the establishment and maintenance of effective processes to assist staff in delivering flawless services and meeting client expectations, whilst demonstrating a constant commitment to quality. In 2023 the Western Ligurian Sea Port Authority obtained a renewal and extension of the quality management certification to the head offices of both Genoa and Savona, bolstered by the efficiency and transparency of its procedures, allied with a more intensive use of digitalised processes.
