The integration of the different modes of transport- maritime, road, rail and air – represent one of the main economic drivers of the development of the Ports of Genoa-Pra' and Savona-Vado Ligure which together handle annually on average over 33% of Italy’s total container gateway traffic.

A strong focus on digitalisation and multimodal transport, across the implementation of a major tangible and intangible infrastructure investment plan aimed at upgrading on-site road and rail links with the major manufacturing and consumer areas both in Italy and Southern Europe, is set to boost the future competitiveness of the Ports of Genoa worldwide.
