InfoPort of Pra'
Extending westwards along Genoa’s coastline, the Port of Pra’ originates from a large-scale land reclamation project, carried out by the Port Authority of Genoa in the 1970s, in response to strong market demand for transoceanic liner services on the part of Northern Italy’s vibrant manufacturing and consumer area. Today, Pra’s full-container terminal is the Port of Genoa’s flagship facility for Far East trade and handles annually on average 1.5 million TEUs.
The Port of Pra’ is capable of accommodating the ULCVs, and with state-of-the-art facilities and direct on-terminal road links with the motorway network and rail links with the Italian railway lines connected to all major Northern Italian and key Central European destinations, container throughput has increased rapidly over the years.
Genoa’s Port of Pra’ is currently the focus of a sizable investment progamme to boost its leadership in the Mediterranean.
