The Fincantieri based shipyard in Genoa- Sestri Ponente is dedicated for years to the construction of cruise liners. After having built a number of units for important shipowners as Costa Crociere and Oceania Cruises, the shipyard is currently completing the construction of the ultra-luxury cruise ship “Seven Seas Explorer”, the first built for the shipowner Regent Seven Seas Cruises, which will be delivered in the summer 2016 and of “Silver Muse”, another ultra-luxury unit for the shipowner Silver Sea Cruises (delivery in 2017).

In recent times, within the Port of Genoa, Fincantieri avails a graving drydock, the drydock 3, dedicated to ship repair and conversion. The drydock, 200 meters long, 30 meters wide, with 9 meters depth over the keel blocks, is supported by all the required shore facilities which ensure also logistic working operations, including two dock cranes with 10 and 20-tons lifting capacity, respectively. At the drydock 3 in Genoa, like in the other facilities of the Ship Repair and Conversion division, Fincantieri is able to provide a full range of services through a selected network of subcontractors, dedicated to naval vessels, mega-yachts, passenger and merchant ships.
