China Communications Construction Company visits VTE

Vice President of the China Communications Construction Company on a fact-finding mission in the Port of Genoa. Keen interest in the Western Ligurian Sea Port Authority’s future development plans.

29 June 2018 – A high-level delegation of the CCCC Second Harbor Consultants Co. disembarked in Genoa on a fact-finding mission in the port. The company is part of the China Communications Construction Company, international leader in the design and construction of transport infrastructure, dredging and heavy machinery manufacturing industry, with a mission to expand its business in Europe. The main objective of the visit: assess the investment opportunities in the Ports of Genoa and Savona-Vado.
Further to a meeting last May in Shanghai, where the President of the Port Authority, Paolo Signorini, illustrated the Ports of Genoa’s major future development plans to senior executives of China’s premier state-controlled construction company, a group which comprises 34 subsidiaries, the management decided to follow-up with an inspection of Genoa’s port facilities to explore the areas of possible mutual collaboration, in line with China’s future expansionist plans within the Belt Road Initiative.
The delegation of the CCCC Second Harbor Consultant Co., composed of Lihua Liu, Vice President,
Hu Kai, General Manager Overseas Department, Huang Shen, Deputy Manager Overseas Department, and Gao Peng, Senior Engineer, were keenly interested in learning more about the strategic role of Genoa and Savona-Vado as a premier European gateway port and the major medium/long-term port development projects underway.
