Megaship docks in the Sampierdarena basin, The Pilots of the Port of Genoa announced the successful mooring of the Liberian containership Agios Minas – 300 metres long, 40 metres wide and a deadweight tonnage of 73,000 dwt – at Gruppo Spinelli-Genoa Port Terminal’s Ponte Etiopia. Genoa, 8 May 2020 – To date, it ranks as the largest vessel to have sailed along the Sampierdarena navigation channel. The complexity of the manoeuvre required in advance a close analysis and assessment by the pilots, with the use of a ship manoeuvring simulator, in compliance with maximum safety regulations. The successful accomplishment of the operation is also a great achievement on the part of the Spinelli terminal management group.
