The Port Authority Management Committee voted unanimously to lease Genoa’s "Nuova Darsena" waterfront area to "I Saloni Nautici" and Amico & Co, The Western Ligurian Sea Port Authority board members passed the resolution approving the lease of Genoa’s Nuova Darsena landside and shoreside facilities to two separate companies, I Saloni Nautici and Amico & Co., thereby ensuring the continued use of the site to host the annual International Boat Show and to accommodate simultaneously shipyard activities.
The Port Authority has decided to assign 40% of the area to I Saloni Nautici, which answers to UCINA, the Italian Marine Industry Association, across a 4-year concession, and the remaining 60% to Amico & Co. shipyards, specialised in superyacht refitting, with a concession period of 20 years. The total cost of the investment will amount to approximately 6.5 million euros. The Mediterranean’s leading International Boat Show will consequently continue to convene along Genoa’s waterfront, and the resolution specifically requests Amico & Co. to free the landside and shoreside areas 30 days prior to the opening of the Boat Show for a total of 50 days. The President of the Western Ligurian Sea Port Authority, Paolo Emilio Signorini, declared, “A great stride has been made towards the optimal use of the Darsena Nautica area by having identified a way of integrating the requirements of the shipyard activities with those of Genoa’s leading annual international shipping event".Click to listen to the articleThe Port Authority Management Committee voted unanimously to lease Genoa’s Nuova Darsena waterfront area to I Saloni Nautici and Amico & Co, The Western Ligurian Sea Port Authority board members passed the resolution approving the lease of Genoa’s Nuova Darsena landside and shoreside facilities to two separate companies, I Saloni Nautici and Amico & Co., thereby ensuring the continued use of the site to host the annual International Boat Show and to accommodate simultaneously shipyard activities.
