Nominated best road infrastructure project, the Papa Bridge wins one of the 16 prestigious awards promoted by the OICE, the Association of Consulting Engineers and Architects, member of Confindustria (Confederation of Italian Industry).

Palazzo San Giorgio, the landmark headquarters of the Port Authority, provided the stunning backdrop to the official visit of the Ambassador of Romania to Italy, in Genoa to celebrate the reopening of the Honorary Consulate of Romania.

Over 630 students from 24 educational institutions, across 4 countries, visited the Ports of Genoa, Savona and Vado Ligure in the first six months of the year to learn more on the wide range of activities performed by the ports and the excellent opportunities offered by the vibrant Ligurian blue economy.

During the ceremony marking a change of command at the Liguria Maritime Authority and the Port of Genoa, with the handover from Admiral Sergio Liardo to the newly appointed Admiral Piero Pellizzari, the outgoing Admiral, in his farewell speech, declared: "My term of office in Genoa has been rich and rewarding and I leave with regret, although I am excited for the new important challenges that await me on the horizon. Memorable professional and personal experiences will remain ingrained in my heart."

Genoa, 29 June 2023 – Details of the new Undersea Road Tunnel were unveiled today at the landmark headquarters of the Port Authority, Palazzo San Giorgio, alongside the announcement that works have officially kicked off following the final approval received from the Commission of the Upper Council of Public Works, the technical board of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, with the go-ahead to Genoa’s large-scale infrastructure project.

Genoa, 29 June 2023 - Today the Genova City Airport new Board of Directors was appointed by the company shareholders at the General Assembly of Aeroporto di Genova SpA. Alfonso Lavarello was officially nominated President, and he will be flanked by the Directors Giovanni Cavallaro, Ivan Pitto, Barbara Pozzolo and Alessandro Cavo. Western Ligurian Sea Port Authority and Per Genova Breakwater Consortium led by Webuild launch the project in the presence of Italian Infrastructure and Transport Minister Matteo Salvini. The Genoa’s New Breakwater is a national strategic project to improve the role of the city, Liguria and Italy in international maritime trade. Also, it is an innovative project unique in the world for its scale, engineering complexity and benefit to the city and country: the new breakwater will be 6,200 metres long and its construction will create 1,000 jobs.
