The Genova For Yachting Association unveils facts and figures of the Annual Market Report published by the European House Ambrosetti on the socio-economic impact of the Genoa-based yacht service industry. Fast growth and forthcoming development plans firmly establish Genoa's leadership at the helm of the global yachting industry. The Government Commissioner, Paolo Piacenza, highlights the Port Authority's firm commitment to boosting the strategic role of the sector across the New Port Masterplan underway.

Genoa's port gate security facility upgrade is near completion. A range of tangible and intangible infrastructure - including new port fences, automatic number-plate and container recognition, automated port gates - is currently being installed across all main 14 port access points to the Port of Genoa, in compliance with international guidelines.

On 14 December 2023 the Western Ligurian Sea Port Authority awarded a new concession to a group of Genoa-based companies, Genoa Sea Service Srl, Gatti Srl, North Sails Srl and Consorzio Assistenza Nautica of the Port of Genoa. The contract foresees innovative redevelopment in the Ship Repair Area east of the port.

Work continues offshore on the New Genoa Breakwater, with the second block of columns under construction and 600,000 tons of gravel already deposited on the seabed.
