In response to the collapse of the Morandi Bridge, new regulations in force, from 16 - 26 August 2018, restrict access of heavy vehicles over 7.5 tonnes, from 08:00 hrs – 20:00 hrs, in Lungomare Canepa and Via Guido Rossa between the Fiumara Roundabout (excluded) and Lungomare Canepa: alternative routes have been put in place.

Christopher Columbus Airport has posted its best all-time monthly passenger throughput, whilst international traffic increased overall by 25% in the first half of the year. Following objective: upgrade transport links to/from the Airport of Genoa.
