Sala del Capitano

The Captain’s Hall is located on the first floor of San Giorgio Palace and is part of the medieval building. The main chromatic element of the floor and tall plinth is composed of polychrome ceramics (laggioni) that echo ancient Genoese motifs. Black and white bands encompass the four-lancet windows and the green foliage painted around it has a softening effect. The ceiling is in decorated wood, with recurring beams, and the walls boast statues of some of the Protectors of San Giorgio’s Bank.

A majestic table, built on-site before the Second World War for Port Committee meetings, completes this charming setting.

The nearby Atrium is also within reach of the hall, a space furnished with tables which can be used as guest registration desks or for serving welcome coffee.
