The Western Liguria Sea Port System Authority (AdSP, for its acronym in Italian) pursues the strategic objective of developing the railway component as a factor in streamlining the logistics system, relieving traffic congestion and developing business plans presented by the main terminal operators at the airports of Genoa and Savona.
The main infrastructural interventions for which AdSP is responsible include:
- the final railway mile - infrastructures in progress and planned for Genoa and Savona;
- policies implemented to support intermodal transport – organisational interventions and Law 130/2018 measures.
The policies implemented break down into two lines of action: the final mile infrastructural component and the management and organisational component. Both actions will allow for a significant increase in the modal split and daily in-coming/out-going trains from the current 45 (30 on the Genoa line and 15 on the Savona-Vado line) to approximately 120 on the entire system. As is already known, the main O/Ds already currently cover a very large domestic market, but the prospects contextualise the system in the development of Corridor 6 (Genoa Rotterdam) towards the market on the other side of the Alps, the supporting infrastructure of which is the Third Railway Crossing and the connection works with the Milan hub. The main infrastructural interventions for which AdSP is responsible include: the final railway mile - infrastructures in progress and planned for Genoa and Savona; policies implemented to support intermodal transport – organisational interventions and Law 130/2018 measures.
