Based on the Risk Assessment Programme and the related Security Plan, in collaboration with the other competent public institutions, the Authority enforces surveillance and inspection measures in the port to prevent potential criminal acts against vessels, terminals, passengers, operators or cargo.
Port gates are equipped with a 24-hour security guard service and a video surveillance system constantly monitoring the port area, perimeter and harbour. In addition, specific permits are required to enter the port area.
The electronic system monitoring port gates has improved access procedures and surveillance.
