From 11 to 14 March 2024, the Ports of Genoa is Local Host Partner to the first edition of CLIA Cruise Week – Europe, a new major international event organised by the world’s largest cruise industry trade association.
Genoa is set to host the European Cruise Week which groups together three dynamic events, including the CLIA European Summit and the inaugural CLIA Innovation EXPO, specifically designed to provide a platform for new suppliers and resources seeking to work with the member cruise lines.
A comprehensive programme of events, workshops and exhibitions dedicated to the world of cruising will be hosted by the Ligurian capital, with the participation of over 700 government and institutional representatives worldwide, joining forces with hundreds of cruise ship suppliers at the Jean Nouvel Pavilion in Genoa's new Levante Waterfront.
The event follows a record-breaking year for the Ports of Genoa, with over 2,5 million cruise passengers handled in 2023 across Genoa's Stazioni Marittime and Savona's Palacrociere Cruise Terminals, confirming the strategic role played by the cruise sector in the Ligurian economy.
CLIA, the Cruise Lines International Association, represents 95% of the global operators, in addition to 54,000 travel agents, 15,000 of the largest travel agencies in the world and more than 350 executive partners, including ports & destinations, ship development, suppliers and business services.
