The wide range of major roadworks underway in the Genoa-Sampierdarena basin, designed to upgrade overland accessibility to the cargo terminals, was the objective of the site inspection of the delegation of thirty engineers co-ordinated by the Chamber of Commerce of the Slovenian capital Ljubljana.
The group was accompanied in the port by the Director of the Western Ligurian Sea Port Authority Infrastructure Investment Programme Staff, Fabrizio Mansueto, with a focus on the infrastructure works which have already kicked off: the new Papa Bridge, the extension and upgrade of the current port flyover and, above all, the on-site delivery and installation of the new Pionieri e Aviatori d'Italia Viaduct, recently completed in a complex and challenging operation which grouped together over 200 engineers and highly skilled specialised workers.
The delegation, which grouped together members of the DCM Road Association of North-Eastern Slovenia, was also keen to receive invaluable insight in the legislation which supported the Port Authority in the implementation of the sizable infrastructure investment programme underway, to relaunch the port and logistics hub of Genoa, in compliance with the pre-established timeline.
