Signorini illustrates the role of the Ports of Genoa in the Mediterranean.
From 7 to 9 May 2018, Ismailia, on the west bank of the Suez Canal (Egitto), hosted the Conference on Maritime Transport and Logistics, organised by the Union for the Mediterranean, the intergovernmental institution which groups together the 28 member-states of the European Union and the 15 countries of the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean.
President Paolo Emilio Signorini was invited as guest speaker to present the recent experience of the Ports of Genoa in the session dedicated to “Success Stories fostering Intermodality and Connectivity in the Euro-Mediterranean Region”.
The President of the Western Ligurian Sea Port Authority highlighted how the removal of trade barriers amongst Mediterranean countries and the relocation underway of manufacturing and logistic activities in North Africa can contribute to boosting future trade relations across the Mediterranean Sea, a strategic area which brings together three continents and sits at the heart of the European maritime routes.
