MULTIMODAL PLATFORM RAILWAY GATE AUTOMATION

In order to accomplish the Rail Gate Automation, power and optic fyber connections have been realised. Besides, the digital interface has been implemented, ensuring interoperability and dialogue between the Gate System and the PCS and enabling data and rail management operating information sharing (gate status; gate opening/closure commands; device diagnostics, malfunction alerts...). The gate is ready to perform Customs automated controls on inbound and outbound trains, according to the procedures under definition by the Italian Customs Agency (Vamp Up project stakeholder). Tuning and testing of the Gate have been completed in October 2020. Specifically, the following activities have been realised: Physical infrastructure
- cable conduit between the Railway Gate and the Road Gates
- power cables connecting the Railway Gate with the power supply
- fiber-optic cables linking the Railway Gate and the Data Processing Center
