Ports of Genoa
Economic and Social Impact Studies

Currently, the Ports of Genoa, along with over 1,100 concessionaires that form the economic backbone of the ports of Genoa and Savona-Vado, act as a catalyst for economic growth, providing jobs for over 33 thousand direct employees in the region, which increases to more than 125 thousand when including the various allied industries created by the diverse port operations. On a national level, the Ports of Genoa make a significant contribution to GDP and to maintaining Italy's leadership in the blue economy and in freight and passenger traffic in the Mediterranean.

Studies and analyses of the sector conducted or commissioned by the Western Ligurian Sea Port Authority provide documentation and enrich the Authority's activities as well as their economic and social impacts stemming from port operations. These studies reinforce strategic directions by pinpointing growth opportunities and sustainable development avenues while engaging industry operators and stakeholders.
