Institutional Activities

The Western Ligurian Sea Port Authority coordinates task forces, dedicated to air quality and environmental noise management, which group together major local public administrations, namely: Harbour Master, Liguria Region, City Councils, Regional Environmental Agency, Local Police Force, Local Public Health Agency, Regional Public Advocate. The working groups address the issues and complaints lodged by citizens, and pave the way for the introduction of best practices to achieve a reduction in air and noise pollution.

In addition, the Port Authority participates in other task forces, promoted by the aforesaid local administration bodies, and pledges its full support to projects which focus on the study of the impact of port activities on the urban fabric.

Environmental campaigns are underway to raise awareness amongst the Ports of Genoa stakeholders, alongside the organisation of meetings with citizen associations and the port terminal operating companies.
